It's Tuesday, which means Top Two Tuesday!
This week, it's Top Two Favorite Songs. I thought for a long time about this before deciding on these two songs (and I will probably surprise you). They both remind me of my childhood and I know I could listen to both songs on repeat forever. I can't decide which is #1 and which is #2, so I didn't :-)
You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC
I have a cool, young dad who loves AC/DC. Therefore, so do I. I could dance to this song all night, and I have never met anyone who doesn't love this song (or know most of the words).
Sweet Child of Mine - Guns & Roses
I specifically remember I had a karaoke machine as a kid and I would sing this song at the top of my lungs, holding the mic in my hand. My dad would play his guitar and I would pretend I was Axel. It was awesome!
And the rest of my top 10 include (in no particular order - I would have wasted way too much time doing that):
3. Then by Brad Paisley
4. Love in an Elevator by Aerosmith
5. Low by Flo Rida
6. Close to You by The Carpenters
7. Falling Slowly by The Swell Season (from the movie "Once)
8. If It Kills Me by Jason Mraz
9. Everything by Michael Buble
10. Melt by Rascal Flatts

Top Two Tuesday - Top Cities
This is one of my favorite Top Two Tuesdays that Taylor has posted. It was SO easy for me to pick these two cities!
Minneapolis/St. Paul
There are SO many things I love about MSP, but I will give my Top 10:
- The lakes, and walks/runs around the lakes.

| Lake Harriet = my favorite lake |
- Family and friends live there, including Michael's family and two of my best girlfriends, Kristen and Michelle.
- It makes for fun getaway/girls weekends (I've spent more weekends in MSP this summer than in Chicago).
- The Vikings and the Twins (read - Joe Mauer).
- The traffic is manageable.
- It's cheaper than Chicago. No sales tax on shopping = awesome!
- It's close to home, but still has a big city feel.
- People are so nice!
- It has four seasons, and winters aren't as brutal as ND or Chicago.
- Companies I love that are headquartered in MSP: Target, Dairy Queen, 3M, Land o' Lakes, General Mills, and Best Buy.

| I love Target! |
Chicago
I have lived in Chicago three years today (Happy Anniversary to me!) and I really do love it here. I never expected to a. live in Chicago and b. once I was here, to stay as long as I have. Despite our ridiculously high taxes and insanely busy highways, I love this city and am so glad I've spent the last three years here.
Some of my favorite Chicago things include:
- Walking along the lake
- Eating at an outdoor patio or rooftop deck
- Ice skating in Millenium Park
- Watching soccer/football/rugby matches at Diversey Harbor
- Eating out at one of the million restaurants we have
- My condo. I love where I live.
- Going to the beach
- Exploring all the fun neighborhoods. Lincoln Park is the best!
- Going downtown for a show - I've seen five since I've moved here and have many more I want to see
- NHL Champion Blackhawks (ok, so I jumped on the bandwagon for this, but I do love hockey!
- Brunch!!! Especially at Nookies or Ann Sather.

Top Two Tuesday: Simple Pleasures
Taylor at The Undomestic Mama organizes Top Two Tuesdays and I'm going to play along. This week's topic is Simple Pleasures.
I'm definitely stealing Taylor's first answer, which is clean sheets. I LOVE CLEAN SHEETS! I wash my sheets all the time (at least twice a week) because I love the feeling of crawling into bed at night when the sheets are clean and the bed is freshly made. Bonus points if I recently shaved my legs. Ah, it's heaven :-)
Simple pleasure #2 is DVR. Thank you to whoever created this amazing piece of technology! I have had a DVR for three years, and I am not quite sure how I lived without it for the 20+ before I had it. Annoying commercials - no thank you. Missed a movie on Lifetime - I'll just watch it On Demand. Listening to Pat Sajak introduce the contestants on Wheel of Fortune - nope, I'll pass. I can watch most reality TV shows in 10-15 minutes with DVR because I can easily skip all the drama and just watch the dancing, singing, designs walk down the runway, etc. That leaves more time for me to watch "real" shows. Clearing my DVR from 89% down to 16% literally brings a smile to my face.
The rest of my top simple pleasures are:
- Walking by the lake (either in Chicago or MSP)
- Laughing with Michael
- Playing cards with my sisters and mom
- When I get to the platform and the train is just pulling up
- The smell of coffee
- When the article of clothing I want to buy is on sale
Hope you are having a great day!
